Black lives still matter

Black Lives STILL Matter.

Opinion

In the midst of all the (understandable) political fallout and protests against our current administration, there has been one subject that has seemingly gotten buried under it all, one very important subject, Black Lives Matter. Obviously, the atrocities committed against various members of the black community by those who are called upon to protect and serve are not a direct result of the recent election, however, the fact that Trump was elected POTUS, is in part a direct result of the complacency, indifference and I’m going to go out on a limb here and say, racist tendencies that a substantial number of American voters seem to share. These are also the very same racist tendencies that contributed to these atrocities to begin with. They at the very least contributed to many non-black people turning a blind eye and/or causing them to feel that these atrocities are somehow deserved. Also, considering who Trump has appointed to his cabinet, I think we can all be safe in the assumption that BLM is not high on their list of priorities. It is however high on the list of ours which is why I decided to share this video. https://www.facebook.com/summer.mclane/videos/10154988559739314/
Disclaimer: I do not own this video, nor am I an acquaintance of Ms. Mclane. Simply someone who appreciated her heartfelt, thought provoking take on this issue and therefore, felt it was worth sharing.
